Upload documents and link to them

  1. Login to SAM and choose Content from the SAM toolbar.
  2. Click the button on the right called Browse Assets and it will launch the Asset Manager.
  3. Click the Up arrow above the list of documents until you see the 3 folders for documents, includes, inline-images. You’re now at the root of the file system. Note: DO NOT upload documents to this folder, you must upload to one of the 3 sub folders (documents, includes, inline-images).
  4. You can optionally create a new folder: Click the documents folder then click Create folder at the top.
  5. Enter a name for your folder, click Create, then it’ll appear in the document list.
  6. Click on your new folder then click Upload at the top.
  7. Choose the files you wish to upload, and you can select multiple at a time. Once it’s finished uploading and the green progress bar is finished, click the X to close the upload box. Then close the Asset Manager.
  8. Edit the chunk where you want the link to appear.
  9. When you have text that you want to link to the new documents, highlight the text to link and click the Link tool in the editor toolbar.
  10. Click the General tab in the Insert/edit link box, then beside the Link URL field click the Browse icon and it will launch the Asset Manager.
  11. Navigate to the folder you created (it might show you the new files by default) and check the box for the file you want to use, click Insert on the bottom left side. If you’re linking to a PDF file I’d suggest setting the Target field to be “Open in new window(_blank)” so that people don’t accidentally close the PDF and also close their browser to your site. Click Insert on the Insert/edit box then save your chunk.
