Manage the text and image that are shared on social networks:
Go to the page you wish to manage in SAM and select Page > Edit Sharing Settings. Enter the text and image you wish to use, then confirm it looks correct in the preview window. Then publish the page, log in to your social network and share the URL.
For example:
The following tools are available for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to help you manage the content you share in your post.
A word of caution: Once you test your post on these platforms, the content will remain cached for up to 7 days. Therefore if you change your content or image after testing, you won't see your changes right away.
X (Twitter)
When you paste a URL into X, it doesn't give you a preview of what you're about to share. Once you're logged in to your X account, you can use the URL below for the card preview to see how it will appear.

In August of 2022 they removed the card validator because it wasn't a good preview of how your tweet would appear across multiple platforms. They recommend pasting your URL as if you were about to post it but don't save it. It will display a preview at that time.
When you paste a URL to share on Facebook, it will cache the content that it displays in the preview window. If you make changes to the content or images from your source page (for instance if you modify the content in Edit Sharing Settings and publish your page in SAM), then you'll want to clear that cache and pull the most recent content. Once you've logged in to your Facebook account, access the URL below, enter the URL you wish to share and click Debug. It will tell you when it was last scraped (when it retrieved the content from the page). If you've made changes since then, click Scrape Again. Then when you go back to Facebook to share it, it should show your most recent changes.

When you paste a URL to share on LinkedIn, it will cache the content that it displays in the preview window. If you make changes to the content or images from your source page (for instance if you modify the content in Edit Sharing Settings and publish your page in SAM), then you'll want to clear that cache and pull the most recent content. To do that, you'll need to append something to the end of the URL you're sharing. For instance if we were sharing the BE home page and wanted it to override what it had previously cached, you could use this:
http://www.brandextract.com/?1
It doesn't really matter what is after the question mark, as long as it's unique and that particular URL hasn't been shared within the past few weeks. Then when you go back to LinkedIn to share it, it should show your most recent changes. Otherwise if you prefer to wait until the image and text refreshes on its own, the LinkedIn cache renews after 7 days.
Here's a tool where you can test your LinkedIn posts before they go live:
